The baby has finally started saying “da da.” It’s predictably very cute, and interestingly, she only whispers it, never says “da da” out loud. On the other hand, “ma ma” is always spoken, yelled, or squealed. My question is this: is “da da” so reverential that it should only be uttered in hushed tones, while “ma ma” is common, and therefore subject to any vocal emphasis necessary? Or is the baby merely the Daddy Whisperer?
